Compliant systems that are implemented monolithically can replace entire modules. For example this means that a kinematic lever system - usually consisting of multiple, individually produced components and requiring manual installation - can be replaced by one single injection-moulded component. For medium to high quantities, this leads to huge savings in production costs.

Even for small quantities, however, the monolithic version can make economic sense if an appropriate manufacturing method is chosen. That is not to forget all of the other advantages that solid-state mechanisms offer. For example, monolithic mechanisms are generally more lightweight than their conventional counterparts.
